I’m in a rut, kids. Stagnant. Brackish and shallow with a thin film of green algae, I’m the ideal breeding ground for mosquitos and the like. Don’t like that description? I’ve got plenty of others: I’m moribund, inert, stalled, going nowhere fast, a human speed bump, etc., etc. Welcome to Dullsville (population: me).
On the happier side, I do have a couple of short-term projects to occupy myself with. I’m supposed to lecture again in June, on the place of music in the civil rights movement. So that’ll keep me occupied for a while. (Any suggestions on material? Send ‘em on, please.) The other project I don’t want to talk about, lest I jinx whatever good juju may be attendant on it. Should anything come of it, I will write about it here.
What this means to you, the Reader, is that updates here may be thin on the ground for a little while. I realize what a crushing blow that must be for you; all I ask is that you try to muddle on as best you can, until things shake out a bit around here. Be strong.
