I have never struggled with my sexual identity. No offense intended to anyone who may have done so, of course. I’ve watched many friends trying to figure out which side of the plate they wanted to bat from, so to speak, and it truly can be difficult. I’m fortunate in that I’ve never had any doubt as to which way I wanted to swing. I have always been attracted to women, from day one. Well, from about age six on, anyway. Before that, girls were still pretty icky.
Here now, in no particular order, is a short list of some of the women who helped form my sexuality.
Disclaimer: I have never even met any of these people, much less, um, anything else you might be thinking. Shame on you.
Julie Newmar as Catwoman
Elizabeth Montgomery as Samantha Stevens
Pamela Ferdin (Who actually bears a small resemblance to Science Girl, now that I think of it)
Melody, the drummer for Josie and the Pussycats (The cartoon show, not the movie. I couldn’t find a good image. Trust me, she was drawn pretty hot.)
Diana Rigg as Mrs. Peel
That chick wearing the whipped cream dress on the Tijuana Brass album cover
These days, of course, it’s all Science Girl all the time. Rowr!
Happy Valentine’s Day!
