Tomorrow is going to be a very busy day. Science Girl is finally going in for her long-awaited foot operation around ten in the morning. We’re hoping to have her back home by lunchtime. (Whether she’ll feel like eating is something else.) She’ll be out of commission for only a little while; they say she’ll be walking the same day, which would be nice. We’re going to see the MC5 on Saturday, so we sincerely hope she’ll be all mended by then.
Also, I’ll be taking a class on Tuesdays this summer, and of course the first meeting is tomorrow night. I can’t really miss that one, yet I don’t like to leave her alone so soon after the procedure. She says she’ll be fine, and I’m sure she will be. I would just feel better being there. Guilt is my middle name.
If it were a normal class, it wouldn’t be that big a deal – I’d be away for an hour or so, and then right back home. Apparently I’m incapable of taking a normal class, though. This one goes for four goddam hours. How do you keep a class that long from having a mutiny? Or falling asleep, which is another distinct possibility. If there’s that much information to get across, wouldn’t it be better to have the class meet for two-hour intervals twice a week? Now, there may or may not be a lab involved. There wasn’t anything mentioned in the class schedule, but given the nature of the class, it’s a possibility. That’s the only way I can get a four-hour class period to make sense. Either that or we’ll be having a two-hour lunch break. Now that is an idea I could get behind.
At any rate, it is entirely possible that postings here may slack off a bit, depending on how much work we’re given in class. I’ll let you know when I know.
